Michelle, There is someone I know that adopted a 5 year old girl from Russia about 2-3 years ago. As a matter of fact she speaks numerous languages.
They emailed us back a journal as often as they could get access to a computer station. It seems they are localized and the children had priority to do school work on them.
I may still have their journal on my computer but if not I could put you 2 in touch. Even though they thought they had EVERYTHING in order...there were still a few issues and delays.
However....Maria the girl could communicate with your daughter when you get back home.

We just launched a new website to serve the Lake Norman Area. The website is community driven and registered users can post their own blogs, events, sub groups(like facebook), photos and forums.

One of the coolest features that are part of the initial launch is users can post garage sales. Posted grarge sales get marked on an overhead map with push pins to help buyers map out thier garage saling routes.

We also launched a similiar type of feature for Christmas Lights displays. Put your house up on our tour and people can drive by and see them then come by and give it a rating.

To help grow the site, we are looking for folks to come and check it out, register and post their blog and post on the forums or create a group. We have a rewards system implemented for posters that will hopefully in the future be able to cash in for prizes.

Everything is free and will remain that way. Once we get a decent user base will will look for advertisers to help subsidze the site. We also have many new features planned for the future.
